Summer of Goodbye

Paintings (掠れ - The Trace)

“Watching the white crane Fly without farewell Into the sky of blue emptiness...” - Kong Vang
That summer I was learning hiragana and words (once I looked up a translation) from the song by Studio Ghibli really captivated me and so this short passage together with the cranes made an attempt to fly onto my paper.
"The yesterday love, it's tears. It dries before long and disappears. The tomorrow love, it's a refrain. Words without the end." - Studio Ghibli
And then there is a Ukrainian version of cranes, farewells and regret that somehow all intertwined when I drew this picture.
"Зникло наше бути чи не бути, Ген за гори з журавлями одпливло, І тепер не знаю, як забути Те, чого ніколи не було." - Б. Стельмах
Cranes have a special place in Japanese art and represent longevity, happiness and good fortune. They have always fascinated me because, with just a few elegant strokes, you can capture the serene energy and effortless grace that cranes so perfectly embody.
