Between Ink and Air

Paintings (掠れ - The Trace)

For this piece, I wanted to play with extreme contrast—using rich, dry brushstrokes for the heavy foreground rocks and pines, while letting a single, watery sweep define the distant mountain in the mist. By leaving the center completely empty, the unpainted paper naturally becomes the water carrying the tiny solitary boat.
'Form is emptiness, and emptiness is form.'
